Joseph Stephen Pasko Sr., lifelong resident of Dundalk and Air National Guard veteran, died on May 12 of a pulmonary embolism at his Dunglow Rd residence. He was 68.
Joe grew up on Meath Rd, lived on Dunglow Rd and was a member of the first graduating class of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School in 1963. As a parishioner of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, he was actively involved in the community and was often referred to as the "unofficial mayor of Dunglow Rd".
After 29 years of service in the Air National Guard, Joe retired with the rank of master sergeant. Concurrently with his military service, he worked part time as a bouncer at the Main Event Nightclub in Essex.
Joe loved aviation, military history, and frequently traveled to enjoy many air shows. He also enjoyed weightlifting and worked out at several gyms over the years, most recently at Gold's Gym in Dundalk.
His absolute passion was for his two grandsons, who knew him as "Pop Pop", and he was actively involved in their lives.
Son, Joseph S. Pasko Jr., and sister Edrick Forbes survive him. Parents Paul A. and Edrick M. Pasko preceded him in death.
Burial at Arlington National Cemetery is pending and further notice will be provided when scheduled. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Joe Pasko Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 43602, Nottingham, MD 21236. This fund was established for the exclusive benefit of Joe's beloved grandsons..
