On November 20, 2014, four days before celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary with his wife, Virginia Clark Gordon. They were members of the class of 1949 from Dundalk High School. Both their sons, Robert Jr. and Timothy are graduates of Dundalk High School, as is their youngest granddaughter, Jennifer. He is also survived by granddaughters Adrianne and Ruth as well as four great grandchildren, Reese, August, Isabelle, and Ryder. He will be deeply missed by his much-loved cats, Manny, Mandy, Molly, and Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Dale Gordon and sister, Nina Gordon O-Day.
Bob was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps and obtained the rank of T/Sgt. He fought in the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Baltimore. Bob enjoyed watching the Orioles, Ravens, and Maryland basketball. He spent a lot of time tending to his tomato and pepper plants.
Family will receive friends at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME OF DUNDALK, on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Burial will be private. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held Tuesday, November 25th at Grace Place, Delvale Rd, Dundalk, at 6 PM. For those who desire, contributions in Bob’s name may be made to the Robert Gordon Memorial Fund, Grace Place or to a cat shelter.
