Arthur Shepard Gibson, 93, of Dundalk, Md. died October 24, 2015 in Manchester, Md.
The family will receive friends at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME of DUNDALK, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Wednesday from 10 to 11am. A funeral service for Arthur will be held at 11am with interment immediately following at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Arthur was born on November 30, 1921 in Baltimore, Md. Later residing in Dundalk. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and earned the Purple Heart during the liberation of Europe. He worked for Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin as an Arc Welder for over 50 years before retiring in 1993. He loved boating, cars, horses and always doing for his family. He will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Loraine Gibson. He is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Horne of Hampstead, Md. and Karen G. Scheffenacker of Cockeysville, Md.; one son, Edward A. Gibson of Fairfax,Va., one stepson, David W. Scheide of Columbia, Tn.; five grandchildren, Courtney L. Pacelli, Lukas Cole and Wissal E. Scheffenacker and John W. and Ryan D. Scheide, two great grandchildren and one on the way.
