Henry Francis Crane, a longtime resident of Dundalk, died November 11, 2015 of respiratory complications at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, in Glen Burnie Maryland with family by his side. He was 88 years old Henry Crane, became a Lieutenant Colonel and veteran of the United States Army, serving on active and reserve duty for 29 years. While serving our country, he was a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Henry Crane was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where he obtained a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1951. He obtained a Masters in Financial Management from George Washington University in 1970. He had a career as an Industrial Engineer at Bethlehem Steel Corporation from which he retired in 1983. Henry was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Holy Name Society, and an active member of American Legion Post 38. In the American Legion, Henry was a Post Commander, a long time member of the Honor Guard, and a participant in the Post Everlasting group as well as proudly marching in innumerable 4th of July parades throughout his life. Henry F Crane is predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, of 60 years, and survived by his two devoted children, Sharon Crane Siegel and Roger Michael Crane, his loving grandchildren, Rachel Sitomer and her husband Dan Sitomer, Sarah Unninayer and her husband, Landon Unninayer , and Katie Leaverton and her husband Leland Leaverton, and his joy of joys great grandson, Benjamin Patrick Sitomer, There will be an afternoon and evening gathering at Connelly’s Funeral home from 2PM – 4PM and 6pm – 8pm on Sunday, November 15, 2015. The funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Monday, November 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers can be send to Connelly’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in the name of Henry F Crane to Sacred Heart of Mary Church, 6736 Youngstown Avenue, Dundalk, Maryland, 21222 or to the American Cancer Society.
