On March 8, 2016, Carolyn Inks (nee Pfarr), Devoted mother to Lisa Inks; loving sister to Mary Barnes; caring aunt to David Brannock. Also survived by her ex-husband and close friend Kenneth Inks as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Born and raised on Old Battle Grove Rd, Dundalk, MD, she shared stories of when she was a kid, she and her brothers, sisters and neighborhood friends would sneak into the Drive-in movies at the end of her street on summer evenings and had the best times. Carolyn moved briefly to Essex and returned to live on Wise Avenue in Dundalk. In 1994, she purchased a home on Eastbrook Ave. It was handicapped equipped so her mother could live with her and her younger brother Dave resided in the finished basement to help provide financial support and care. She had turbulent and good years there with her brother and mother until they passed. In Dec 2000, David Brannock, her nephew, moved into Eastbrook. At that time, David worked close by, and he could do the driving and heavy lifting around the house. She cooked and cared for the household. She had beloved pets, a Cairn terrier, Mitzi (all the neighborhood kids called her Toto), who loved running around the oval garden in the back yard and Mr. P, her black & white (tuxedo) boy cat – mom said “his tuxedo doesn’t fit anymore” because of all the snick-snacks. Carol and Dave Brannock moved in with Lisa Inks in June 2014. Mr P. continues to live with Lisa and Dave.
Carolyn worked as a waitress, serving many loyal customers over the years at the White Coffee Pot (Middlesex Shopping Center-Essex), Horn and Horn in Dundalk (Pulaski Hwy) and Cactus Willie’s in Dundalk, until her retirement in 2013.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 from 5-8 PM in a private room at the Boulevard Diner (1660 Merritt Blvd, Dundalk, MD 21222). Guests are encouraged to bring photos and memories to share.
