Alan Higgs

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan Blaine Higgs, a devoted husband, loving father, beloved grandfather, and great-grandfather. An Edgemere resident all his life, Alan was a retired Supervisor from GAF as well as an avid camper. He loved spending time with his family and watching the Orioles and Ravens games. Born in Baltimore, MD on September 19, 1954, to the late Clarence (Hoover) Higgs and the late Joan Higgs (Curtis), he passed away at the age of 70 on October 29, 2024.

Alan's memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Donna Higgs (Fryling); his sister, Yvonne (Bonnie) Higgs; his sister, Lisa McCarty (Higgs), and brother-in-law, Kevin McCarty Sr.; his daughter, Nori Harris (Higgs), and son-in-law, Colin Harris; his grandchildren, Tristan Harris, Trevor Harris, and Trent Harris. Alan is also survived by his beautiful great-granddaughter, Addison Blaine Harris.

Known as "Big Al" or "Uncle Al", his influence extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of his niece and nephews, great nieces and nephew, as well as his cousins and many friends, all who will miss him dearly.

A public viewing to celebrate Alan's life will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, where friends and family can pay their respects. There will be a service at 6:00 pm and dinner at Squires Restaurant from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

Alan will be remembered for his warmth, his dedication to his family and work, as well as the laughter he brought to all those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's name can be made to the North Point - Edgemere Volunteer Fire Department.
