Anezina Sfiriou

Anezina Sfiriou, 79 of Baltimore, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.  She was surrounded by her loved ones.

Anezina was born on the Greek island of Halki, which she maintained a lifelong attachment to.  She lived in Rhodes until she and her husband Antonis moved to Baltimore with their young daughters in 1976.  Here she became a faithful member at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and worked as a seamstress.  She was a devoted wife and mother, a caretaker to many friends and family members.  She opened her heart and home, welcoming all with her warm nature and contagious laugh.  She will be deeply missed.

Anezina is predeceased by her parents, Ioannis and Antonia Manolitsis; brother, Nicholas Manolitsis.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Antonis; daughters, Antonia Sfiriou, Katina Palas and her husband John; most beloved grandchildren, Dean, Antonis and Anezina; cousins, nieces and nephews, here and in Greece. 

The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. A Trisagion service will be held at 8pm. Funeral services for Anezina will be held on Saturday 10am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 520 Ponca St, Baltimore, MD 21224. Interment to follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
