Carl Hobson

Carl Dean Hobson, Sr (Hob's), aged 85, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 in Baltimore, MD. He was born on July 16, 1939, in Kentucky, to Ruth and Fritz Hobson. He was a proud resident of Baltimore County and was a 1956 graduate of Poly Technical Institute. He married Norma Marie Gray on September 15, 1964, in Baltimore. He owned and operated Hob's Citgo/CIF for over 60 years. Carl was President of the Miller Island Edgemere Business Association (MIEBA) for over twenty years advocating for the community by raising money for scholarships, food banks, and other community projects. He was also a member of the Hawk's Pleasure Club.

Carl was also known for his mechanical abilities racing Pro Stock "SuperFats" 109. He loved drag racing, fishing, scuba diving and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Hobson, and three children - Carl Dean Hobson, Jr. (Chick) and his wife Suzanne, daughter Candy Hobson Burton and her fiancé Tom and daughter June Hoskins and her husband Matt (favorite son-in-law). He is also survived by three grandchildren - Nicole Hobson Pusloskie and her husband Michael, Matthew Hobson Burton, Joey Patrick Hoskins, as well as step grandchildren Dean Burton, Mark Burton, Zane Bosserman and Erynn Bosserman.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a public viewing at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Sunday December 15, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 pm.
