Colette "Bonnie" J. Richards

Colette "Bonnie" Jean Richards (nee Rolfes) a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Millers Island community, passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 87 in her waterfront home. Bonnie brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around her and loved reminiscing of old times with family and friends. Some were even lucky enough to have been called her "Number One".

Bonnie dedicated herself to her family and her career of 33 years with Baltimore County Public Schools where she retired as a Cafeteria Manager. Bonnie had many trades in her lifetime including commercial crabbing, seamstress, newspaper delivery route, and if you're from Millers Island you know of her famous snowball stand with homemade flavors and marshmallow. Bonnie was loved greatly by all and known for her selfless commitment to her family, friends, and community.

Bonnie was a loving and devoted daughter to the late Anthony and Helen Rolfes (nee Fiksak), sister to Joanna "Joan" R. Heinlein, Ronald "Blackie" Rolfes and the late Anthony Martin Rolfes.

Bonnie was a devoted wife to the late Ralph "Rick" Richards, with whom she shared many cherished moments. Bonnie and Rick loved spending time at the beach and at their trailer in Chincoteague, hitting the slots at the casinos and watching their favorite drivers with friends at auto racing events. At the track, Bonnie was known as the "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" - although she wasn't from Pasadena.

Bonnie's dedication to her family extended to her children, as she was a loving mother to Michele Bean and her husband Butch, Sharon Godlewski and her husband Allan, Anthony Goolsbee and his wife Robyn, Susan Skaggs and her husband Jay, James Goolsbee and his wife Tracy. Bonnie is survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, each a reminder of her enduring impact and the love she shared in their lives.

To honor and celebrate Bonnie's life, a public viewing will take place on January 21, 2024, at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk MD 21222 from 3:00pm- 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on January 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, located at 7225 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore MD 21224.

Bonnie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, yet her memory will continue to shine brightly through the stories shared, the love she imparted and the many lives she touched. May she rest in peace, forever cherished and never forgotten. In the words of Bonnie herself...."Toodles".
