Daniel M. Steinert, 88, of Baltimore, MD, was called home to God on Monday June 14, 2021. He was the loving husband of Norma Jean and dedicated son of the late Stanley and Mary Steinert and son-in-law of the late Andrew and Margaret Sopko.
Daniel was a loyal brother to Richard and Phyllis Nickol (predeceased) and brother-in-law to Elizabeth Steinert, father to Dana Pickering and father-in-law to Scott Pickering and devoted Dziadzi to Kristina Marie Pickering. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many wonderful neighbors and friends.
Born in Baltimore on Glover Street, Daniel soon started school at St Cashmir’s. He completed his eight years there and moved on to Polytechnic High. After Poly, he attended Johns Hopkins, graduating Tau Beta Pi with a dual degree in Engineering.
Daniel was a devout Catholic whose hobbies included playing golf especially at Clifton Park where he eagled the 10th hole (hole-in-one), baking (especially with his granddaughter), bowling, and singing with the Chorus of the Chesapeake.
