It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a devoted father and grandfather, Donald Andrew Capp. Donald peacefully departed from this world on February 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and enduring love. His personality and stories were sometimes larger than life. His genuine care for people endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on July 21, 1946, to his parents the late Charles and Helen Capp, Donald grew up in Baltimore, MD with his sister, the late Shirley Nash, and his brother the late Charles "Buddy" Capp. Upon graduation from Patterson High School, Donald enlisted in the United States Navy. After Electronics School in Great Lakes, IL he would receive a Diplomatic Passport and travel to many countries in Central and South America. Donald would then be called to serve in Vietnam where he would routinely conduct secret missions through Loas into North Vietnam.
Donald was a member of several organizations such as the Knights of Columbus, Vietnam Veterans Association of America, and the VFW. He loved cheering for Navy Football, but his greatest love was bragging about his children and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his daughter Meghann Capp-Pate, her husband Joe, and their children Kimika and Kiyomi; his son Andrew Capp, his wife Molly, and their children Lola, Caroline, and Brennan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Wednesday February 28, 2024, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing, beginning at noon. Interment to be private at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue.
Donald's spirit will continue to live on through the memories he created with his loved ones and the impact he made on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts. Rest in peace, Donald. Your legacy of love and dedication will endure for generations to come.
