Douglas Minnick

Douglas Andrew Minnick, known affectionately as Doug to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at his home in Stewartstown, PA. Born on December 21, 1951, in Havre De Grace, MD, Doug's life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.

Doug's early years in Maryland laid the foundation for a life full of joy and hard work. His career as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Bethlehem Steel, a Crane Mechanic, and an Auto Mechanic showcased his incredible work ethic and skill. His hands were not only skilled but were also an extension of his selfless nature, always ready to fix and build not just machinery but also a better life for those around him.

A man of many interests, Doug found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Hunting was not just a hobby but a passion that allowed him to embrace the tranquility of nature. Bowling nights were filled with laughter and friendly competition, while playing pool was a cherished pastime where he shared stories and camaraderie. Perhaps most endearing was his love for enjoying a cup of coffee, a simple ritual that invited conversation and reflection.

Family was the cornerstone of Doug's life. He was married to his wife of 25 years, Kathy, and a loving father to Melissa and Dawn. His role as a stepfather to Cheryl, James, Kevin, and Timothy was embraced with the same warmth and guidance he provided to his daughters. The title of grandfather and great-grandfather brought him immeasurable happiness, as he cherished every moment of play and every opportunity to impart wisdom.

Those who knew Doug would describe him as wise, selfless, and courageous. His wisdom was shared generously, his selflessness was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his courage, especially in his battle with cancer, was truly inspirational. Doug's legacy is one of strength, love, and an enduring commitment to his family and friends.

To honor Doug's life, a public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Sunday March 16, 2025 from 1:00-6:00 pm. A funeral service will take place the following day at the same location on Monday March 17 at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.

Doug's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, yet his spirit remains a guiding light. His life is a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of character, and the beauty of a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with affection and admiration.
