Elizabeth Eleanor Lookingland

Elizabeth (Betty) Lookingland (nee Taylor) passed peacefully on September 21, 2023, at the age of 92.

Betty was born in Baltimore City and raised on Bear Creek in Dundalk Maryland. She graduated from Sparrows Point High School, class of 1949 and attended Dundalk Community College and Towson University.

She enjoyed her 25 years of substitute teaching at North Point Junior High School. Betty loved her Church, family, card playing, scrabble, writing, crafts, and socializing.

She will be missed by her daughter, Nancy Karr, sons, Gilbert Jr. and his wife Carol, and Michael and his wife Hope.

She is predeceased by her husband Gilbert Lookingland Sr., son, Warren E. Lookingland and his wife Jane Lookingland, son-in-law Michael Karr, brothers, Leroy E. Taylor and Ted Taylor, and her parents Leroy Sr. and Hazel Taylor. She is also predeceased by 7 loving aunts and uncles who she grew up with: William, Joseph, Richard, Charles and Warren Stancliff, Doris Prevosto, and Edna Myers.

She also leaves behind 11 beloved grandchildren and 24 precious great-grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial Service on October 27th at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church of Gray Manor. Due to parking the service will be for family. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at the Crescent Yacht Club, 1840 Cape May Road Baltimore, MD. 21221 at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend.
