January 5, 1958 - May 28, 2024 (age 66)

Elizabeth Lee McElroy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28th after a brief

battle with breast cancer.

Liz grew up in Wilmington, Delaware graduated from Padua Academy, and later

lived her adult life in Baltimore, Maryland where she embraced her adopted city.

Liz enjoyed eating crabs, walking to the water nearby to watch the planes fly

over, scratch lottery, and just being with her family and friends. Liz followed the

Baltimore sports scene and especially enjoyed the Ravens and the Orioles.

Liz worked in the flooring industry and enjoyed the people with whom she

worked, creating friendships, as she progressed through her career, retiring from

CB Flooring in 2023.

Liz was kind, generous and caring. She was happy on the sidelines, adapting to

whatever situation she was in, and never wanting to be the center of attention. A

lover of animals of all kinds, she provided homes and an abundance of love, to

birds, bunnies, fish, horses, cats and many cherished pups. Liz excelled at

updating her home décor, holiday decorating, and receiving packages on her

doorstep.

Liz was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Henry P (Duke) McElroy,

Jr. and Mother Rita M. Lee.

Liz is survived by her sister Vicki Allegretto (Stephen), step-daughters Meredith

Schwartz (Mike), Amanda Arrington (Duke), 7 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great-

grandchildren and her Fiancé, Joseph Santillo, III.

Liz is also survived by many friends, cousins and her beloved pets, Tazz and

Cosmo.

A celebration of Liz's life will be held in Middle River, Maryland on Sunday, June

2

nd at the Landing Strip from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, a mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 8th at

Corpus Christi Church in Elsmere, Delaware at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from

9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
