Francis J. “Frank” Chorba, of Baltimore, left this world on September 22, 2022, bestowing his larger-than-life legacy onto his loving and devoted wife Laraine, daughter Christen, daughter Shannon and son-in-law Darin and grandchild.
An Air Force veteran, former employee of Bethlehem Steel and retired Federal civilian, one of Frank’s greatest achievements was convincing his daughters to join the Federal work force. Frank was an avid softball player in his earlier years and sustained his passion for rooting for the home teams through his allegiance to the Orioles, Ravens and Terps. He unsurprisingly enjoyed Maryland cuisine and spent many early summer mornings crabbing on the water, followed by afternoons spent around the paper-lined kitchen table picking crabs and making family memories. He took extreme pride in feeding others, not just with his famous steamed crabs and crab soup, but smoked meats, cheesecakes and deviled eggs. He had a soft spot for animals of all kinds, especially his grand dogs: Louis, Brooklyn and Yoko. Frank was a man of impressive stature with a heart to match and a booming voice that will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date for friends and family.
