George "Sonny" Armentrout

George "Sonny" Armentrout, 85, of Dundalk, Maryland passed away at home on May 30, 2023 from Alzheimer's, where he has resided since 1975. Though he suffered with Alzheimer's for over 9 years, we know that now he is at peace in Christ.

George was born in Wyoming, West Virginia on October 11, 1937. He was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp from 1957-1960. He worked at Lever Brothers for 35 years and retired in 1996. Sonny enjoyed retirement by golfing and playing cards with friends, running, taking walks, and swimming at the YMCA in Dundalk. He was also a member of the Omega Pleasure Club and a member of First Lutheran Church of Gray Manor for many years. He also loved to listen to music, play records, and dance to his favorite songs.

George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen Armentrout (nee Lingelbach), devoted father of Kelly Campana and her husband Artie, Stacey Ramage and her husband Kyle, and Robin Jackson and her husband Chris; cherished grandfather to Sara Campana, AJ Campana, Nicholas Ramage, and Andrew Ramage; dear brother of Jesse Armentrout and his wife Betty, the late Betty Seidel and her husband Robert, and Frances Harless and her husband Pete. Sonny is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Our family is so grateful to so many who have poured out their love and support over the course of these past few years while caring for George, especially the Amedisys Hospice team, the VA Home Care, the caregivers of Home Instead, our church community, family members and friends. George touched the lives of so many people and will be truly missed.
