Ioannis Minas Dargakis

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Ioannis Minas Dargakis. He was born on March 1, 1930 in Karpathos Greece, and peacefully passed away on March 2, 2024, at his home in Bel Air, MD. Ioannis was a loving husband to Maria Dargakis, a dedicated father to his son Minas I. Dargakis and his daughters Eugenia Britzolakis and Foula Dargakis. Father in law to Sandra Dargakis and Georgios Britzolakis. He was also a cherished grandfather to Nicholas Dargakis, Christina Dargakis, Alexander Dargakis, Jonathan Dargakis and Ioannis Britzolakis.

We will honor Ioannis' life with a Public Viewing on Friday, March 8th at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church located at 520 Ponca Street, from at 9:00 am - 10:00 am. A funeral service will follow beginning at 10:00 am. This sacred mass will offer solace and provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together in remembrance and support. Following the funeral service, Ioannis will be laid to rest at Oak Lawn Cemetery, into the peaceful embrace of eternity.

In-lieu of flowers, please donate to the Saint Nicholas memorial fund. All proceeds will be earmarked for the Saint Nicholas Youth Gymnasium Renovation project.

Ioannis will be remembered for his strength, unwavering dedication to his family, humor, and his warm spirit. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
