James "Allen" Holt

James Allen Holt, age 65, of York, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Mount Joy Hospice Center.  He was the husband of Scarlett Darlene Mullins Holt.  He was born in Raleigh, NC, son of the late James Holt & Eula Pearl Benson Pritchard and step-father Thomas Pritchard.  In the past he attended the Light House Baptist Church of Dover, PA.  He graduated from Patterson High School and the Bible Baptist College of Springfield, MO.   He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 29 years.  He then worked for Ames True Temper of Harrisburg for 5 years. Allen loved building things, he always had a project.  He enjoyed working with his hands, flying kites, swimming, his dog Dutch and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife are 2 children: Renee wife of John Shivery of York, Ryan husband of Heather McGinnis Holt of Baldwin, MD, 7 grandchildren:  R.J. Bukowski, Ryley, Gabriel, Deliah & Hope Holt, Wade & Lennon Shivery, brothers: Bruce husband of Regina Haire of Shrewsbury, PA, Duane Haire and companion Julie Myers of Shippensburg, PA, one sister in Virginia and 3 brothers in Baltimore.  He was preceded in death by a grandson Aidan Holt.  Viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk, MD, 21222, on Monday, April, 17th from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 10:00am then interment service to follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
