On November 27, 2018, James R. Baskette, husband of the late Ruth Baskette, passed away at home with family by his side. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Bessie Baskette, his son James R. Baskette Jr. and son in law Richard Rodgers Jr. Mr. Baskette is survived by his daughter Sharon Rodgers, daughter in law Tena Baskette and Mark and Pat McGehee. Also survived by his loving grandchildren Rick Rodgers and wife Angela, April Richter and husband Derrick, Jordan Baskette and Bryanne Baskette and his devoted great grandchildren Jacob, Trent, Tyler and Ashlyn. Jim was the rock of his family, a man of few words with a strong and kindhearted presence. Born in Sparrows Point, he grew up in Highlandtown and moved to Dundalk in his teens. He graduated from Thomas A. Edison Vocational High School in 1948 with a degree in mechanical drafting. Employed by Bethlehem Steel as a mechanical draftsman for more than thirty years, he retired in 1983. Jim was a member of the Patapsco Masonic Lodge 183 in Dundalk for 53 years and served as Worshipful Master in 1978. Visitation with family will be at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME OF DUNDALK, 7110 Sollers Point Road on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Masonic service with a time for sharing will be held at 8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in James R.
