ASHLAND – James Michael Frado, Sr., 91, Ashland, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Brookwood Place. He was born in Baltimore, MD on December 13, 1927, the son of John and Agnes (Sporny) Frado. During WWII he served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific theatre. Upon his discharge James reenlisted in the Marine 11th Engineer Battalion. In the 1950’s he joined the Marine Fighter Squadron, and served a total of thirteen years in the Corps. He was twice elected President of the Fifth Marine Division Association and served as a Trustee. He was a Charter Member of the Marine Corps Intelligence Association and Federal Criminal Investigators Association. James was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Masonic Lodge 151, Ashland OH, a Noble of Rajah Temple, Reading, PA, member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Reading, PA a member of Knights Templar. James was an avid pilot and enjoyed gun collecting and hunting. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially Jean, his devoted wife of 66 years. On February 16, 1952, James married Alba “Jean” (Cosentini) Frado. They spent most of their years in Baltimore where they raised their family. He owned an automobile repossession company, and later served in the hotel security business. In the mid-1990’s they moved to Manheim PA where they lived until moving to Ashland OH in 2015. He is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Donna J. Teefy (Michael) of Vancouver WA, son James M. Frado, Jr. (Karen) of Ashland OH, and daughter Carol A. Greider (Jay) of Mt. Joy PA. He is also survived by grandchildren Melissa Frado (Brandon), James Meushaw (Natalie), Allison Besancon (Matt), James Frado III (Jordan), Michael Frado (Alicia), Kent Teefy, Andrea Watkins (John), Kate Sexton (Tim), Jesse Greider (Rachel), Megan Greider, and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by great grandson, Calvin James Frado. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Brookwood Place and Dr. Roger Snyder in Ashland OH for the compassionate and loving care given to James during the final days of his earthly life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brethren Care Village, 2140 Center St. Ashland, OH 44805. Visitation with family will be held on Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME of DUNDALK 7110 Sollers Point Road. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Rev. James M. Frado, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, German Hill Road, Dundalk.
