James Leonard Iman Sr., 65, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Jim passed away due to complications from the flu and pneumonia. He was born July 7, 1953 to Harry “Bud” Iman Sr. and Helen (Cook) Iman in Baltimore, Maryland. He married Sandra McGowan on March 20, 1976. Jim and Sandy spent most of their married life in Fort Howard where they raised their four children Becky, Kelly, Sarah, and Jimmy Jr. His life dream was to complete the restoration of the “Farm House” on Todd’s Farm where he and Sandy shared the last few years together.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, uncle, pop, and friend. He loved working on the water with his son, fishing, woodworking, and hunting. Jim also enjoyed traveling with his family, planting trees, family picnics, and any excuse to share a meal together which he saw as “the real treat.” He also loved spending time on the Pocomoke River with his brother-in-law and best buddy Rich.
Jim found joy in loving others whether it was keeping his freezer stocked with ice cream for his nieces and nephews, playing dress ups with his grandkids, or dropping whatever he was doing to help a stranger or a friend.
Jim is survived by his wife Sandy, his children Becky and Mike Droberg, Kelly and Shawn Butler, Sarah and Joey Russo, Jimmy and Amanda Iman, and his twelve grandchildren he loved dearly. He is also survived by his brothers Robert and Leroy Iman and their families, sister Linda (Iman) Smith and her family, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Harold H. Iman Sr. and Mrs. Helen M. Iman and his brother Harry Iman Jr.
