James W. Loftus Jr.

Dundalk, MD - James W. Loftus Jr., aged 74, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024. He was born on August 27, 1949, to his parents, James Sr. and Elizabeth Loftus. As a devoted and loving husband, James was married to his beloved wife Judy Loftus for 53 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

James was a dedicated father and is survived by his children, Jennifer Loftus-Adelung, Jaime Ryan, and James Loftus III, and his wife Gina. He was an adoring grandfather to his grandchildren, Emily Leonard and her husband Zachary, Lauren Adelung, Evan Ryan, and Colin Loftus. He is also survived by his siblings, Dan Loftus and his wife Cheryl and Betty Jernigan and her husband Tony; as well as his sister-in-law Peggy Howard and her husband Earl. Family was paramount to James, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

James had a strong work ethic and was a respected supervisor at BGE for 30 years. He took great pride in his job and was admired by his colleagues for his dedication and exceptional skills.

Prior to his career at BGE, James served his country proudly as a Vietnam veteran in the Army. He served with honor and distinction and his bravery and commitment to serving his country were a source of pride for his entire family.

When he wasn't working or fulfilling his military duties, James enjoyed the great outdoors. He was a true outdoorsman and found solace in the pursuit of hunting. Whether it was a serene morning in the forest or a challenging treeline, James embraced the beauty and tranquility of nature.

A public viewing will be held on January 17, 2024, at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service in celebration of James's life will take place on January 18, 2024, at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. The family is forever grateful for the compassion and support received during their time of loss.

James' legacy of love, unwavering dedication, and a zest for life will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
