Jean May Debelius,Dashiell, Horseman passed away on September 25, 2020.  She was predeceased by parents Francis and Margaret Debelius (nee Gillan) husband Kenneth Dashiell and Robert Horseman and five siblings. She is survived by her four children : Kenneth H. Dashiell and wife Linda, Michael J. Dashiell, Judith A. Schultz and husband Kenneth, and Kathryn J. Smith and husband Thomas.  Five Grandchildren Kimberly Hannon, Erin Dashiell, Tiffanie Meadows, Katlin Dashiell and Michael Dashiell.  Also, two great-grandchildren: Marissa Hannon and Arianna Meadows as well as her brother James M. Debelius.

She grew up in Highlandtown and attended Sacred Heart of Jesus grade school and then went on to graduate from The Catholic High School of Baltimore.  After graduating High School in 1956 a year later she traveled to Germany and wed her Army husband Kenneth.  They moved to Eastwood and lived there for over 50 years.  After moving to Edgemere in 2015 she retired from Back River Treatment plant where she work for 49 years, prior to that she worked at Patterson High School for 10 years and spent many summers working at Camp Puh'tok running the candy store.  She also spent many years as a volunteer teaching ceramics for the Salvation Army Boys Club.

Jean was devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner and playing games each week with them.  She loved gardening,  was an avid backyard birdwatcher to those nesting in her birdhouses.  She also attended Edgemere Vol. Fire Hall bingo's and church bingo and bazaars, was a member of Ateaze Senior Center where she joined the craft club, going to the casino and attending school functions and sports games with her grandchildren.  She continued to visit her co-workers each week after retiring.  Jean also enjoyed going to North Carolina to visit her son and on cruises and other trips.

Jean's lighthearted spirit and kindness will be missed by her family and many dear friends and co-workers.

A mass of remembrance will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on April 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Catholic High School of Baltimore on Edison Hwy.
