Joanne D. Robinson, daughter of the late John Reynolds Mullen and Marian D. Mullen, passed away suddenly on June 2, 2021. Joanne was the third oldest of eight children, born August 30, 1951, in Baltimore, MD.
She had one brother (William “Billy” Owens) and one sister (Delma “Cookie” Walker) that preceded her in death. Joanne started her family in 1970, bringing Ronald Jones into the world. A year later 1971, she welcomed her second child Fernando Jones with her significant other, the late Edward Jones. She later married Wiley H. Robinson on March 10, 1978, with whom she shares one son, Wylie Robinson, born in 1977. As a child, she was introduced to God, and throughout life, she continued to strengthen her faith.
Joanne attended Northwestern High School and attended classes at CCBC to further her education. She always had a free spirit, always made herself available to help others, loved traveling to Atlantic City with her sisters, doing arts and crafts, spending time with all her grandkids, going shopping at the flea market, and couponing. One of her favorite trips was a birthday trip to Las Vegas with her daughter-in-law. Being the go-getter that she was, Joanne loved working at Scholastic Books for 10+ years, and when they closed, she began a job at Eastern Connection as a courier. After leaving there, she went on to work at United Healthcare, where she wore many hats and eventually retired to enjoy the retirement life.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three children: Ronald, Fernando (Tammy), Wylie (Heather); one stepson Wiley; twelve grandchildren: Ricky,
Darian, Brittany, Breona, Diamond, Ikeisha, Talia, Devron, Cameron, Nigel, Aaliyah, Scottie; five great-grandchildren: Liam, Jade, Aiden, Malique, Harmony; five siblings: Mary, John, Elizabeth “Betty” (Ernest), Catherine “Cathy”, Sonia (Johnny); two goddaughters: Kimberly, C’asia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and two very dear friends Angie and Tom.
Family will receive visitors at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road Dundalk, MD 21222 on Thursday, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service celebrating Joanne's life will be held on Friday morning at 11 AM at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1900 E. North Avenue Baltimore, MD 21213. Interment will follow at Moreland Cemetery 1601 Taylor Ave, Parkville, MD 21234.
