John L. Harper

John Leslie Harper, 64, passed away suddenly on May 25, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.  He was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Jeanette Harper.  He is survived by daughter and son in law, Alison & Josh Whitt; granddaughters Harper & Reagan Whitt; siblings Robert Harper, Susan Harper & Nadine Stanczyk; nephew and niece Michael Harper & Brooke Harper.  He will also be missed by dear friends Valerie, Michael & Mya Paugh and Warren Butler as well as countless other family and friends.     John was born on August 2, 1952 in Dundalk.  He graduated from Dundalk High School in 1970 and joined the Naval Reserve.  Upon release from service, he began working at Bethlehem Steel and later for Arundel Engineering. John enjoyed the outdoors, riding his Harley, his numerous pets, cooking and baking, his NatGeo shows and doting on Mya, Harper & Reagan.  Above all he enjoyed conversation.  He would talk to anyone he came in contact with about anything!     A memorial gathering to celebrate John's life will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Connelly Funeral home of Dundalk from 5-9pm.
