John J. McVey

John J. McVey "Omar" 67, of Big Pine Key, FL, cherished son of Joan Klingelhofer and the late James E. McVey, devoted father to John S. McVey and his wife, Nicole McVey; Cherished grandfather to Justin and Aaron McVey, loving brother to Janice Weatherholt, Chuck Klingelhofer, Carol Klingelhofer, and Julie Hovermill, devoted companion to Nicole Logan and also survived by his nieces and nephews who adored him. Omar has spent the last 33 years of his life sharing his dedication to recovery by spreading his message throughout Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous across the country.  He has helped countless people with their recovery by paying it forward.  His dedication to this cause will be missed by many. Omar has been a member of the Phoenix Motorcycle Club since 1985.  The club played a critical role in his recovery. Omar gave new meaning to "Living the Dream".  He became the Karaoke King of Big Pine Key where he shared his singing talents with everyone who would pass through the Keys.  He was also an avid musician of many instruments. He was loved by many to say the least.  He has touched so many lives over the years.  His positive spirit and brotherly love will be sorely missed. The Family will receive on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME of DUNDALK 7110 Sollers Point Road. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home, Phoenix Motorcycle Club Chaplin Al Santiago will officiate.
