John Anthony Pijanowski, Sr. (affectionately known as "Pop") passed away on August 4th, at his home in Dundalk, MD, at the age of 85. John was a man who became an "expert" at every hobby he undertook, and there were many he undertook. From cooking and computers to golfing and guns, lock picking, key making, working out, etc., he spent his time and money mastering every craft. He worked as a longshoreman and had many other odd jobs along the way, including managing gas stations, driving an ice cream truck and working in construction, where he taught his boys everything they know.
He had an insatiable sweet tooth that thrived on day-old donuts and pastries and he loved picking crabs and enjoying chocolate snowballs with his family in the summers.
He was also a very generous man, never wanting to see anyone he loved in need of anything. His house was filled with "helpful" gadgets he ordered from Amazon and he often bought multiples so that he was ready to give something away to anyone at any time.
He is survived by his two sons and daughter in laws, John Jr. and Michele Pijanowski and James and Debra Pijanowski, his four grandchildren Charles, Sarah, Shannon and John John (fiancé Stephanie), his two great grandchildren Layla and Ozzy (or La La and Ollie as he usually called them), his brother Don Pijanowski and his wife Carol, his sister Marguerite Gallup (Sis) and her husband Joe, and special caring companions Madeline and Fluffy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Pijanowski (2003), and his brothers Walt and Gerome (Gee) Pijanowski.
The family will celebrate his memory privately but all prayers and condolences are much appreciated. Donate your money to an Amazon product you don't really need in his honor. Buy two or three while you're at it and give them away to your friends and family. It was truly the "Pop" way. (Or the American Diabetes Association would be a worthy cause as well.) ;)
