John Adam Snyder

John Adam Snyder, beloved husband of Lisa (nee Murphy), beloved father of Thomas (Mack) Shifflett and wife Linda, Ellen (nee Shifflett) and husband Hershel Bates, John Snyder and wife April, and Robin (nee Snyder) and husband Matt Belsinger, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Willard and Emma (nee Kandel) Snyder. John was born in Scranton, PA on November 13, 1936 and moved with his family to Dundalk, Maryland in 1939. Hobbies include: car mechanics; car racing; working with his hands; welding; hunting; fishing; his horses, cats, and dogs; and animal rescue. John also enjoyed watching war histories, westerns and wrestling. He was a long-time member of the current Plumbers and Steamfitters Union #486. In addition, he was a member of the Quarter Horse Association, the Paint Horse Association, and the League of Maryland Horsemen. John was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Emma Snyder; his sons, James Shifflett and Allen (Buster) Shifflett; his brother Willard Jr., and first wife Ruby (nee Dykes). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to John’s favorite charities: SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals) on Falls Road St. Jude Children’s Hospitals DAV (Disabled American Veterans) The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9pm. A funeral service for John will be held on Friday 11am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery.
