Joseph Neukam

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Neukam, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on March 16, 2025, at the age of 68. Joe was born on November 15, 1956, to the late Charles and Dorothy Merritt Neukam. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Susan Marr.

Joe leaves behind his devoted wife of 43 years, Audrey Neukam, his children, Denise Ann Kagle (husband, Javier Reyes), Robert Kagle, and Wendy Piniecki (husband, Michael Piniecki). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Brittney Reyes, Javier Reyes, Morgan Kagle, Michael Piniecki, and Maison Kagle, as well as a cherished great-grandfather to Vincenzo Galeano, Jaxon Sumuel, Valentino Galeano, and Kane Reyes. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Neukam, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his grand dog, Hulk, who was a constant companion and source of joy in his life.

Joe's faith was an integral part of his life. He attended Our Lady of Hope School and Parish his entire life, and his devotion to the community was unwavering. He attended North Point Jr. High School, graduated from Patapsco High School, and later earned an AA in Drafting/Math from CCBC. Joe worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Sweetheart Cup, Fort Howard Cup, and Solo, retiring in 2022 after a long and successful career.

He will always be remembered for his love of family, which was the center of his world. Joe enjoyed Sunday breakfasts with his family after every 8:30 AM Mass, and he cherished quiet moments sitting and watching his fish tank for hours. He was incredibly devoted to his four grandsons, Enzo, Val, Jaxon, and Kane, and was always ready to jump in to help, earning the affectionate title of "Joe the Tutor." His family will forever treasure memories of him playing cards, especially spades and poker with Audrey, and enjoying time with his grandchildren watching "How It's Made," jumping on the trampoline, and playing catch.

Joe was an avid golfer, proudly serving as the Tournament Scheduling Chairman at Chesapeake Golf Club for over 10 years and was a member for more than 20 years, forming lasting friendships along the way. He was also a part of the Rocky Point Senior Men's Group for three years. Earlier in his life, he was an avid bowler and enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities. His passion for sports, games, and spending time with family defined his vibrant personality.

A true testament to his kind heart, Joe was a friend to many, always willing to lend a hand or provide guidance when needed. His legacy of love, dedication, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Joe's life at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens.
