Karen Swayne

Karen Hopson Swayne passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 66. Following a short battle with cancer, she died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Karen re-dedicated herself to Christ many years ago, finding profound strength and comfort in her relationship with the Lord.

A loving mother, devoted wife, adored daughter, and beloved sister, Karen is survived by her cherished son Kyle Hopson (wife Micki), and her precious dog Jessie. She was predeceased by her treasured husband Albert Swayne, revered parents Loyd and Virginia Hopson, and dear brother Kenneth Hopson.

A self-professed "Dog Mom," Karen was a lover of dogs and supported multiple animal charities. She was also a supporter of our veterans, donating to veteran-oriented charities, and for a time working with her church to provide help for veterans in need. She was an avid football fan and found great joy in attending Ravens and Orioles games with family and friends.

Karen will be deeply missed by so many who enjoyed her genuine nature and her wonderful sense of humor.
