Kay E. Sullivan

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kay E. Sullivan on December 17th, 2023 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her devoted and loving husband, William L. Sullivan. Beloved mother of Robin Scherzo and Burton Ferm (Annette). Dear stepmother to William Sullivan (Gail). Survived by her grandchildren Desiree Ferm, Kira Ferm, Brian Scherzo, and Brandon Sullivan.

Kay believed in the power of love and service. She dedicated many years of volunteer service to the Hemophilia Foundation of Maryland. She participated regularly at The Table of Grace at Essex United Methodist Church, bringing a warmth into the lives of people in need. Kay knew that when you help someone, you help everyone around them. Kay was an unstoppable force of good and wore her heart on her sleeve.

Dear Oma,

Even though the ocean is in between us you always took part in our lives. Therefore, we are very grateful and full of memories we will never forget, like when you had to give up some teeth to get us a puppy. (You know what this means, Oma) We especially remember the great trips and times we had together when we visited each other! We are so happy that we were able to enjoy a part of your last Christmas. We will have you in our hearts forever.

Family will receive friends at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Thursday from 3-7 PM.  A funeral service to celebrate Kay's life will be held at Essex United Methodist Church, 524 Maryland Ave, Essex, MD 21221, on Friday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7224 Eastern Avenue.
