Linda Sue Nevin

Linda S. Nevin, 79, of Dundalk, Maryland succumbed peacefully in her sleep to vascular dementia on March 22nd , 2022.

Linda is survived by sons, Thomas Jr. and Sean, daughters-in-laws, Dede and Jennifer, her grandchildren, Sarah, and Timothy, and her brother Jerry Pennington. Linda was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Sr., sisters, Joyce, Gay, Pat, and brothers, Lyle, Gary, Larry, and Terry, (and Darryl and Darryl).

Linda was a devoted grandmother, who enjoyed getting her nails done by Sarah and watching Timothy pitch at his little league games. Linda always had candy, gum, and assorted snacks in her pocketbook for the kids and loved to take them shopping. It wasn’t all fun and games though. Linda had a real mischievous side and was often found administering one of her patented Indian burns to various nieces and nephews (sometimes with their parent’s permission).

Born in Huntington, West Virginia, Linda resided in the Brooklyn and Brooklyn Park neighborhoods of Baltimore for most of her early life. Linda believed in the virtue of hard work and was not one to sit still. She was a telephone operator for C&P Telephone for many years and later worked as a representative for American Greetings, but considered her greatest job titles to be “Mother” and “Grandmother.”

Linda was a recent convert to the Catholic faith, having been baptized in 2021, but would not have considered herself a procrastinator. Linda held very strong opinions and would gladly share them with whomever she felt needed to hear them, but all her actions flowed from a place of love for her family and friends.

Family will receive visitors at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Tuesday, March 29th from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. A funeral service celebrating Linda's life will be held Wednesday, March 30th at 11:00 AM at St. Rita's Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032.
