Luther William Fuller Sr.

 Luther William Fuller was born on October 2, 1925 at Frankford WV, a son of the late John Caleb and Fanny May Fuller. He grew up on a farm, where he learned the value of hard work; hoeing corn, cutting firewood with a crosscut, and making hay by hand. He left home at the age of 17 and moved to Baltimore MD where he went to work at the Sparrows Point Shipyard. He then transferred to the Bethlehem Steel mill where he worked as a welder in the maintenance department, retiring after 42 years of service.

On October 9, 1948, Luther married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Catherine Viers, who preceded him in death in 2009. Luther and Virginia enjoyed many good years together, raising a family, working on their home and yard and, in their retirement years, traveling many places around the country. Luther is survived by two sons; Luther W. Fuller Jr. (Bill) and wife Nancy of Baltimore and David W. Fuller and wife Judy of Durbin WV, as well as grandchildren Ben, Adam, Lucas, Gary, Jay and Melissa and two great-grandsons, Oliver and Silas.

Luther was a member of Graceland United Methodist Church. After he retired, Luther worked many hours on the church building along with the other trustees of the church. He had many skills, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.

Luther died peacefully in his sleep on Monday November 5, 2018 at the home of his youngest son. He was 93 years old.

The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Thursday from 6-9 pm. A funeral service  will be held on Friday 10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
