It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my Dear Wife, Marcia Ann Kuhrmann Davis, who died on August 20, 2018, after a long struggle with cancer. Marcia was 75 years old. Marcia was born in Maryland, and grew up in Dundalk, Maryland. She attended Dundalk High School and graduated in 1961. During her final year at Dundalk High School, Marcia won the Beauty Pageant and was Miss Dundalk High School 1961. After High School graduation, Marcia worked as a Typist/ Stenographer at the Local Government of Baltimore for several years. She then later began her career as a Project Secretary at Technical Companies that were contractors to the Federal Government. She also joined the Coast Guard as a Reservist, and moved over to the Navy, and was there as a Reservist for over twenty years. As a Reservist she had the opportunity to travel, and spent about one month in Denmark in Europe. Marcia met her husband Peter Basil Davis in 1998 at a “Singles Dance” in Maryland. Marcia was with her mother Dorothy Kuhrmann. Peter and Marcia started dating, and fell in love, and were married in June of 2002. Peter and Marcia had a great love for singing, and began singing at Karaoke venues, and this continued throughout Marcia’s remaining years. Marcia was also a member of two Entertainment groups, The Pascal Go-Getters and The ShowStoppers. Her stint with the Pascal Go-Getters began at about 2004 and continued to about 2010. During the later period with the Pascal Go-Getters she became their Director and this lasted for a few years until she left and joined the ShowStoppers. Marcia was also associated with the Ms. Senior America Beauty Pageant. Marcia was the Ms. Maryland Senior America for 2013, and competed in Las Vegas at the National Ms. Senior America Beauty Pageant. In October 2014, Marcia was inducted into the Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame, Inc. She was presented with the Award of Distinction in recognition of Dedicated Volunteer Service to the Citizens of Maryland.
