Marlene Viola Grubowski

Marlene Viola Grubowski, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and daughters on March 3, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland, after a courageous battle with cancer complications. Born on November 8, 1942, in Highlandtown, MD, Marlene was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her.

At the tender age of 16, Marlene married her beloved husband, Francis Grubowski, who was 18 at the time. Together, they celebrated an enduring love that spanned 65 beautiful years. Their union was blessed with four daughters: the late Brenda Grubowski, Joyce Gain, Sharon Shipley (and husband Doug Shipley), and Linda Hancock (and husband Guy Hancock). Marlene took immense pride in her family, which grew to include six grandchildren-Jill Manns (and husband Michael Manns), Amy Holtzner, Colton Hancock (and wife Melissa Hancock), Breanna McCauley (and husband Ryan McCauley), and Tanner Hancock-and five great-grandchildren, Addyson, Kassidy, and Austin Manns, Keegan Holtzner, and Jaxon McCauley.

Marlene dedicated over 40 years of her life to the Baltimore County Schools as a school bus attendant for handicapped children. Her compassionate nature and unwavering devotion to her work were admired by colleagues and the families she served, leaving an indelible impact on the community.

Marlene's passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank, her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each of whom carry forward the legacy of love and strength she cultivated throughout her life.

A public viewing will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road. A funeral service to celebrate Marlene's life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, 7401 German Hill Road.
