Mary Briggs of Dundalk recieved her Angel Wings on July 22, 2021. Born in Baltimore on November 20, 1925 to Herbert and Lottie Elways. She is survived by her sister Pearl Gintling and brother James Elways. Predeceased brothers are William Elways, Charles Elways, George Elways and sisters Laura Hunt and Evelyn Beck and ex-husband Edgar C. Briggs,Jr. Surviving children are Edward and his wife Patricia, Thomas and wife Judy, Debra and husband Ernie, Brian and his wife Patricia, son Micheal and the late Leslie. There are eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mary worked at St. Lukes Catholic Church as a custodian for about 25 years. Mary enjoyed shopping trips esp. Murphy's and was nick named , "Murph". She loved life and enjoyed reading books and painting pictures. She studied all her prescription medicines and knew what side affects they did to her. She had a super pleasant personality and was a joy to be around and loved the history of Edgemere, Jones Creek and Lodge Forest areas she grew up in her younger years. She also was a resident of O'Donnell Heights and lived at Center Place Apts for 25 years. She attended the old Sparrows Point High School in the mill town of Sparrows Point.
The family will recieve friends at The Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Tuesday, July 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 with a funeral service celebrating Mary's life at 7p.m. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, July 28th at Leed's Cemetery in Elkton so Mary can Rest In Peace along with the other Elways.
