Mary Louise Wood, nee Kellner, age 66 passed peacefully November 28, 2019 at the side of her loving husband.
Mary was often referred to as Mary Lou by friends/family and Lou Lou by all her niece’s and nephews. Her most favorite name to be called was Gram by her 24 grandchildren. Mary was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland in the Sparrows Point/ Dundalk area where she resided at her death. Opportunities allowed Mary to also live in Germany for a few years in her young adulthood and Terra Alta WV for 9 years in the 1990’s. While being a wife and mother of young children, Mary worked her way through college to get her Associates Degree in Accounting. Until retirement Mary worked as a Bookkeeper at various property management companies. Mary was an avid volunteer from the PTA when her children were young, leading a youth group for her community in Terra Alta WV and Secretary at Sonshine Fellowship Church in Dundalk. Mary was in the graduating class of 1971 from Sparrows Point High School, a lifetime member of the Battle Grove Democratic Club, a Master Gardener in WV and a member of the Sonshine Fellowship Church in Dundalk. Mary had a strong faith and loved her God, her husband, and her family.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Charles W Kellner and Esther B Kellner Stewart as well as her siblings Charlotte A Sappe and Charles “Buddy” Kellner.
Mary is survived by her husband Charles A Wood Jr; her step-father Carl “Herbert” Stewart; her siblings Susan “Sue’ Mills and Kenneth “Ken” Kellner; her 8 children Terry L Grimm, Richard “Rich” W Ryan Jr, Patricia “Tricia” C Ryan, Charles “Chuck” A Wood III, Daniel “Dan” W Wood, Amy L Smith, Laura G Wood and Kristen N Bittner; 24 Grandchildren, Jennifer, Rusty, Chris, Gabrielle, Ryan, Brandon, Zach, Alex, Timmy, Tyler, Dylan, Braiden, Lilli, Chucky, Matthew, Elizabeth, Alexis, Liam, Olivia, Emily, Aniya, Sammi, Holli and William; her Great-Grandson Austin; her many loving daughter and son in laws as well as nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A service to celebrate Mary's life will be held on Wednesday, 11:30 am, at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road, Middle River MD 21220.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sonshine Fellowship Church, 7201 Sollers Point Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222.
