Norma Bing

On Tuesday Oct. 15, Norma LaRue Bing, 96, went to be with our Lord. Born in Baltimore, March 1, 1928, she was a proud Dundalk girl through and through.

Her childhood was spent amongst a very large family of German immigrants on her mother's side and a plethora of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and neighbors on her father's family farm (The Dorrett Farm) which is now Stansbury Park in Dundalk. She loved and cherished each and every one throughout her life.

Growing up during WWII, she graduated Sparrows Point High and went through secretarial school going on to work for Prudential Life Insurance where she stayed until marrying and beginning her family.

As a girl she loved to ride horses. She enjoyed being outdoors and was the Mom who took the kids sledding, ice skating, hiking and instigating all manner of adventures. As well she was a wonderful piano player, gardener and collected more recipes than could be cooked in a lifetime.

She had a zest for life and was interested in everything. Kind and generous to everyone she met. Her greatest treasures were her family and her best friend Jesus.

She was our beloved Mom.

She was our heart.

Norma was preceeded into heaven by her husband, Ennis Bing, parents, Norman and Henrietta Dorrett and her dear sister Alma Paul. She is survived by her two daughters Michele Nearchos (husband Rodney) and Linda Bing. Two beloved grandchildren , James Nearchos and Jennifer Nearchos as well as two adorable great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jack. Also her younger sister, Shirley Graves and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She dearly loved them all.

There will be a private internment at Oak Lawn Cemetery and the family is planning a larger Celebration of Life gathering in Stansbury Park Dundalk, date to be announced.
