On June 29, 2022, Pantelis V. Tserkis, 70, a long-time resident of Baltimore Maryland passed away peacefully. Pantelis was of Greek decent from Karpathos, Greece.
He was born on September 11, 1951. He was a devoted husband of 43 years to Sharon Tserkis, and father of Nikolaos Tserkis; dear surviving brothers of John V. Tserkis, and George V. Tserkis ; dear surviving sisters of Arhontoula Georgiou, Kalliopi Hourvardas, and Anna Mihalis; deceased brothers of Nikolaos V. Tserkis, and Mike V. Tserkis. Pantelis V. Tserkis is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, family
and friends.
Pantelis was a successful businessman who had many interesting hobbies such as antiquing, motorcycles, swimming, enjoying the Mediterranean Sea, and always walked with a smile and a handshake introducing himself as “I’m Pete the Greek”. Pantelis started his career from ground zero, rising up the ladder to success reaching his goal of the true American dream.
The bond between his brothers was loving and solid. He lived by his faith in God, and attended church faithfully. He was a true humanitarian helping always there to lend a helping hand.
He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his pride and joy, his son Nikolaos. During summer of 2021, Pantelis happily enjoyed one last visit to his homeland with his loving wife Sharon, son Nikolaos, and niece Marina. He filled his heart with the memories of the Mediterranean Sea, authentic Greek cuisine, and joyous laughter with all those he loved.
Visitation with family will be on Friday, July 1st, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME of DUNDALK, 7110 Sollers Point Road, with a Trisagion service at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass to celebrate Pantelis' life will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at 10:00 AM, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 520 Ponca Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. Interment will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224. (In due time, arrangements and plans are being made to escort him to his final resting place in Greece)
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that gifts be made to support ALS research at The Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins.
