Robert Siperek

Robert was born in Baltimore and lived on Richie Ave. on Edgemere. When he was 19 years old he enlisted in the armed forces, serving in the U.S. Navy for about 3 ½ years. While in the Navy he traveled around the world on the USS Hailey, he was a baker, and got his GED. When he was discharged from the Navy, he came home and married Delores Snider on September 14, 1957. Then, he started working at Bethlehem Steel as a mechanic, working his way up to supervisor. They had 2 handsome sons, Robert Jr in 1961 and William in 1964.

Bob was very active in both church and the VFW. At Christ Lutheran Church, he helped to install a new bell tower and helped with the church’s building and cemetery maintenance. At the VFW, he held multiple office and rose up though the chairs to become Commander of Wells-McComas VFW Post 2678, in 1982. He was chairman for multiple programs throughout his time at the post. After his retirement, he like to spend his time flying model airplanes, fishing, gardening, and playing his dog, Bebe. He also enjoyed going to the local VFW’s bull roasts, dances, dinners, karaoke, and post meetings.

The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Wednesday from 3-7 pm. A funeral service Robert will be held on Thursday, 10 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery.
