Rodrigo T Ignacio

Rodrigo Torres Ignacio (Rudy), a loving husband, father, and grandfather, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 10, 2022.    

Rudy was born on September 16, 1939 in Concepcion, Philippines, to parents Raymundo and Paciencia Ignacio.  He graduated high school and spent two years working towards an engineering degree prior to joining the United States Navy in September of 1960.  He retired from the Navy in 1963 where he met his wife, Mary Ann at the USO in Baltimore.  They married in December of 1964 and resided in Baltimore, ultimately settling in Dundalk. Rudy worked in several trades before focusing on a career as a Longshoreman at the Dundalk Marine Terminal where he retired in 2001. Rudy and Mary Ann raised two beloved children, Raymond Thomas (Ray) and Amelia Lynn (Amy). Ray and his wife, Margaret Mary (Meg), raised two children, Amanda Rae (Mandy) and Hannah Marie.  Amy raised three children of her own, Andrew Ryan, Alexander Charles (Alex), and Amelia Anne (Mia).  Similar to his own children, Rudy was very engaged with his grandchildren.  He could always be found on the sidelines of their lacrosse, field hockey, basketball, and baseball games from the time they were young children through their adult college years. Rudy was also known as an excellent cook, sharing many of his delicious Filipino dishes such as Lumpia and Ponsit with friends and family.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, his three children, Ray, Amy, and Terri; his six grandchildren, Mandy, Hannah, Andrew, Alex, Mia, and Michael; and his three great grandchildren, Brandon, Joey, and Michael. Rudy is also survived by his siblings and their families, brother Rustico and sisters, Erlinda and Amalia.

Family will receive visitors at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Visitation on Saturday at Connelly Funeral Home from 10-11 AM. A funeral service will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Saturday at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Cemetery.
