Ruth Ann Lower

Ruth Ann C. Lower (nee Sekerak), of Dundalk, Maryland, peacefully passed on April 17, 2024. She was the only daughter of the late George and Martha J. Sekerak; wife of the late Paul W.Lower; and mother to the late Stephen M. Lower. She is survived by her son David P. Lower, his husband Leon D. Vanasse, Jr. and her grand dogs; Rebel Acres Princeton, Double DBentley, and Muscle Russell Diamond.

Born February 25, 1944, in Highlandtown (Baltimore, City) she was raised by her parents and grandparents. When she was born, her father (George) was at boot camp preparing to be deployed during WWII. As a young woman, she became active in Job's Daughters and went on to serve a term as Honored Queen; an accomplishment her parents never forgot. She graduated from Dundalk High School in 1961, went to nursing school (Licensed Practical Nurse), and marred her husband (Paul) in 1962.

Shortly after marriage, she became a mother to two sons and temporarily left her nursing career. When she went back in 1973, her sons were still her life and would do anything for them regardless of the challenge or the time needed to accomplish. In the late 80's she went back to school and became a Registered Nurse in 1992. At the age of 62 (2006) she was devastated with the sudden loss of her youngest son (Stephen).

Ruth Ann was a loving mother and devoted wife; she leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and selflessness.

A Celebration of Life will take will take place later this year, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org). May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved and respected by all who knew her.
