Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ruth Marie Gallagher affectionally known as Mom-mom, 73, a resident of Millersville, MD will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at Connelly Funeral Home, 7110 Soller’s Point Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222. Burial will be at Lakemont Memorial Cemetery, 900 W. Central Avenue (Rt. 214), Davidsonville, MD 21035 following the funeral services. The family will greet friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Connelly Funeral Home in Dundalk.

Mrs. Gallagher passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Baltimore Washington Hospital Center in Glen Burnie, MD.  Ruth M. Gallagher was born February 14, 1944 in Edgemere, Maryland,  the daughter of Max and Dorothy (Hackenberg) Wray. She was united in marriage to Richard R. Gallagher on April 4, 1964 in Dundalk, Maryland. They were married for 53 wonderful years.  

Mrs. Gallagher was an homemaker a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, friend; a great mother, phenomenal grandmother, and awesome great-grandmother.  She loved her family dearly and was overwhelmingly generous to all.  She especially loved to prepare awesome meals for friends and family and loved to celebrate life events for all family members.  She made awesome beef-barley soup, pigs in the blanket, roast-beef, broccoli salad, and chocolate pies. She enjoyed music of the 50’s, any music that you can cha-cha to, Elvis, inspirational music, and gospel music by the Gaither Vocal Band and others.  She loved to play zombie canasta and carrom and always enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren. She also loved to laugh and loved life. She thoroughly enjoyed eating Maryland Blue Crabs and anything that you can make with them.  She also loved chocolate covered jellies.  She collected crystal and milk-glass china. She loved to celebrate Christmas with her family and especially her grandchildren where she would give to them beyond measure.  She had impeccable writing and was faithful in sending cards and letters that were always thoughtful, encouraging, and well written.  She would do anything that she could for her family.  She was extremely loyal and faithful to all and strongly supported her husband Richard and her daughter Crystal.  She was her husband Richard's and her daughter Crystal's, best friend.

She is survived by her spouse Richard Gallagher; daughter and spouse Crystal M. (Steve) Martin, Eldersburg, MD; 3 loving grandchildren Kyla M. Martin, Knoxville, TN, and Joshua Martin and spouse Hannah J. (Heins) Martin, York Springs, PA; 1 joyful great-grandchild Sam A. Martin; 2 sisters, Elaine (Ron) Heaton of Essex, MD and Wanda (Don) Banks, of Sparrows Point, MD.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Wray in 2010.
