Ruth L. Riggles

Ruth L. Riggles (nee Meyer), 79, passed away on June 26th, 2022 at her home in Dundalk.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5th at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk with
viewing starting at 9 am and service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial
Gardens.
Mrs. Riggles was born October 26, 1942, to Ida Meyer and Roy Meyer. She married Herbert K.
Riggles, on August 27, shortly after graduating from Sparrows Point High School in 1960. Ruth
belonged to Gray Manor Baptist Church. Ruth always put others before herself, she truly had a
heart of gold and was a second mother to many. Ruth will be missed greatly by her two sons;
Timothy K. Riggles and Brian K. Riggles and his wife Diane, her three grandchildren; Marissa L.
(Riggles) Jessop, Brandon K. Riggles, and Brooke M. Riggles, and her great-grandchild; Miya
Jessop, brother; Glendon Meyer, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by
her sister Lois Church and brothers Roy Meyer, Earl Meyer, Daniel Meyer, Thomas Meyer, and
William Meyer.

Besides her deep love, care, and concern for her family and friends she enjoyed a simple life. She enjoyed talking about her special memories of her mom, dad, and siblings growing up on Millers Island and Sparrows point. She enjoyed outings, car rides, and going to local restaurants with her long-time friend, Diane of over 50 years. In her healthier days, she enjoyed cooking homemade meals using her Mother's recipes including mac and cheese, soups, made the best potato soup. She enjoyed visiting friends and family and had a huge family. She had a huge collection of family pictures over the years and found a passion for telling the stories behind them. Her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were her shining stars. She enjoyed crabs and fish dinners and had her favorite restaurants. She loved hanging on to antiques and collectibles. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and enjoyed her flowers when in bloom. Loved old classic country music such as Roy Orbison and Chet Adkins and Elvis still had the old cassettes. She loved her church and seeing her friends there. Always looked for the good in people and enjoyed chatting on the phone.
