(Kathryne) Shirley Morrisey passed away peacefully on November 18, 2017, following a lengthy battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s. Shirley was born August 7, 1922, to the late Clinton and Helen Kemp in Dundalk, MD, where she lived until 2008, before moving to Delaware. She proudly served as a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ in World War II, building P-38 fighter planes. Her favorite pastimes included traveling, knitting, gardening and spending time with family and her special group of friends, ‘The ENDS.’ Shirley was preceded in death by James J. Morrisey, her adoring husband of 41 years. She was the cherished mother of two sons, James A Morrisey and his wife Koh, and the late Thomas K. Morrisey and his widow Lisa Dailey. Shirley was the adored grandmother of granddaughter Kimberly Skelly, her husband Scott and their children, Colby and Joseph, and grandson Timothy Morrisey, his love Carol Miller and her children, Chelsea Gallagher and Chaley Shaver. Other survivors include her brother Glenn Marshall and her sister Janet Bezelik and husband Bob, and many more family members. She was also preceded in death by sisters Helen Colley and Joan Faleski. Loved and treasured by family and friends, Shirley will be fondly remembered for her enduring faith and humility, her quick wit and her entertaining sense of humor. Shirley always faced life’s challenges with a sense of passion and a smile on her face; her legacies of strength and determination will always be an inspiration. The family is very grateful for the care that hospice provided. The family will receive visitors at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME OF DUNDALK, 7110 Sollers Point Road on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
