On December 28, 2022, Stephine Sunseri Barrow passed away. She was the beloved wife of Henry Barrow; devoted mother to Christian Barrow and his companion Melissa, Ryan Barrow and his wife Mieke, Erin McGovern and her husband Brendan and the late Michelle Howell; loving grandmother of Fern, Sunny, Lucky, Noah, Sanne, Lynn, Claire, Andrew, Deirdre, and Bridget, caring sister of Deborah Comparetto, Marc McCune, Barbara Recek and the late Thomas McCune.
Stephine came to Dundalk in the early 70s, where she met her husband Henry and started a family. While raising their family, Stephine enjoyed a variety of jobs that she could do from home while caring for her children, including selling Tupperware and baking and decorating cakes. Many friends and family members still remember many of the beautiful cakes that she made for special events, including birthdays and weddings. After her children started school, Stephine began working as a substitute teacher and a school librarian at Our Lady of Fatima School. Later, Stephine began her career at Kennedy Krieger School, starting as a classroom aide, then a library aide, and later moving into a position as an Administrative Assistant. Stephine met many close friends during her time at Kennedy Krieger.
Throughout her life, Stephine most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was often involved in hosting or planning parties to bring people together, including birthday parties, baby and wedding showers, and family reunions. Stephine was also a woman of great faith, living her faith as an active member of St. Rita Catholic Church and volunteering to help others at church and through a variety of organizations. Additionally, Stephine enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, and gardening. She loved nothing more than sharing these hobbies with her children and, especially, her grandchildren. Stephine often commented that she had always wanted to become a grandmother and spent as much time as possible with her ten grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Monday, January 2nd from 9:30 AM- 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon at St. Rita Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery.
