Thomas Lawrence Plewacki "Tom", 77, of Leander, Texas went home to be with our Lord on February 27, 2023. Tom was born November 10, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland. His parents were Thomas Michael Plewacki and Maryann "Marie" Nowicki Plewacki of Rosedale, Maryland. His dad preceded him in death on June 7, 1988 and his mom, Maryann "Marie" Nowicki Plewacki on January 16, 2004.
Tom grew up in Rosedale, Maryland and attended schools in Rosedale and surrounding areas. Tom attended grade school through the 8th grade at St. Clemens and graduated with his high school diploma from Towson Catholic School in 1963. Tom always loved all sports and was an avid baseball and basketball player while in school. Tom went on to get his Bachelor Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland and later his Master's Degree in Engineering from Frostburg State University.
Tom served our country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. Tom was commissioned as an officer in the Navy and served on the St. Paul, among other ships, and did a tour in Vietnam. Tom was very proud to have served his country and enjoyed sharing stories with anyone that came around. Tom was also involved with the United States Auxiliary Coast Guard, the Knights of Columbus, and the VFW.
While in New York, Tom met his wife of 47 years, Jane Ann Marks Plewacki and they were married on May 9, 1975, in New York City. God blessed Tom and Jane with their pride and joy, a son, Thomas Scott Plewacki "Scott", on October 22, 1976. Shortly after their son was born in 1976, they moved to Maryland and called Maryland home until 2015. Tom loved the water and shared that with his son, Scott. Tom loved to be on his Grady White boat and spend time with friends and family.
Tom and Jane left Maryland in 2015 to come to Texas to live near their son and grandchildren. Once in Texas, they settled in and loved to be involved with anything their grandchildren were doing. Tom dearly loved each of his grandchildren and the name "Pop-Pop" that came with being their grandfather. Tom said there was no sweeter sound than to hear his grandchildren laugh and play. Tom was so proud of his grandson, Emerson Scott Plewacki, when he decided to join the United States Air Force in 2021 and would brag to anyone he could tell. It was only a short year later that Tom doubled his excitement when he got the news that his granddaughter, Allyson Lynne Plewacki, was also joining the United States Air Force in 2022. Tom loved to watch his other grandchildren exceed in everything they participated in, especially when it came to education and sports. Tom also loved the family dogs, Dexter and Remington, and loved playing ball with both of them.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jane Plewacki, of Leander, Texas, his son and daughter in law, Scott Plewacki and Julie Hamilton, of Leander, Texas, grandson, Emerson Scott Plewacki of Leander, Texas, granddaughters, Natalie Faith Regier, Allyson Lynne Plewacki, Cameron Lynne Plewacki, and Alexis Lynne Plewacki, of Leander, Texas. Tom is also survived by his brother John Michael Plewacki "Jack", of Rosedale, Maryland. Tom is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
