Thomas Douglas Smith

   On December 11, 2021, Thomas Douglas Smith, beloved son of Arlene Pyles and the late Bernard Smith; devoted father to Chelene Smith, Alicia Borowski and stepson Dannie May; cherished brother of Timothy Smith and his wife Donna, James Pyles, Robert Pyles and his wife Kathy, Cheryl Johnson and her husband Richard, Renee Smith, Karen Smith, Lisa Oxley and the late David Smith and his wife Cindy; loving grandfather to Odessa Powell, Makayla Hargrove, and Evan Borowski; and great grandfather to Eliana Burgess.  

   Thomas, known to all as Doug was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He joined the Navy at 18, where he graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory School. Doug went on to meet the late Alana May and have 2 daughters and step- son. Doug spent many years in the career of automotive restoration. Doug was well known for his creative and artistic abilities and quick wit. Doug can be found being in deep conversations on life, politics, and current world issues. He will be sorely missed by everyone he encountered. The family will gather for a personal celebration of life to honor him.
