Vincent (Vince) P. Rosso, Sr. passed away on January 23, 2024, at the age of 93 in Severna Park, Maryland. Vincent was born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 4, 1931 to his parents Phillip and Amelia Rosso.
Vince spent nearly 40 years employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Sparrows Point, MD and retired as a metallurgical engineer. He enjoyed traveling to visit customers and working to ensure the products were delivered with the highest quality. After retiring, Vince stayed active in many other roles - as an usher at the newly-opened Oriole Park at Camden Yards, as a tour guide for Bethlehem Steel, as a treasurer for the late Honorable Norman Stone, and finally as an inspector for Baltimore County Licenses and Inspections.
In his personal life, Vince was married to his late wife, Patricia Ann Rosso, for over 55 years. They enjoyed spending time with their children and were very active with friends and in their community. He was a proud father to six children: Vincent P. Rosso, Jr., Christina Jordan (Steve), Robin Greenwell (Rick), Robert Rosso, Rick Rosso (Beth), and the late John Rosso (Colleen). He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, and he enjoyed seeing them and hearing stories about their adventures from around the country. Vince was also blessed with his siblings, Frank Rosso and the late Theresa Creaghan, as well as with his sisters-in-law, Helen Joyce Dorba and Mary Lou Liberto (deceased).
Vince was proud to have volunteered in West Inverness sports and to have coached numerous teams including soccer, baseball, and softball. Through his efforts, he met countless young men and women in the community and formed many lasting memories. In recent years, he continued his social life as he moved into the community at BrightView, staying active, caring for his tomato plants, and making new friends.
Vincent's family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate his life at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk for public viewings on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 pm and Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00-11:30 am.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on February 1, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Following the service, friends and family may proceed to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, where Vincent will be laid to rest.
Vincent P. Rosso, Sr. will forever be remembered as a kind and fun-loving person who always had a smile, as a loving husband, as an amazing father, as a cherished friend to many, and as Coach Rosso or Mr. Vince. His true kindness, generosity, and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
