William Russell Say, a beloved member of the Baltimore community and a proud Vietnam War U.S. Marine Veteran, passed away peacefully at his home in Dundalk, Maryland, on October 6, 2024. Born on December 12, 1947, in Maryland.
William was the son of the late Wilma Grace and William Jacob Say. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary Ellen Say and leaves behind his loving children Shelly Pearl Wood and Russell Jacob Say. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Destiny, Kyle, William, Conner, Kristen and Lacy. He is also survived by his siblings Sharon, Maureen Dolly, Judy and Jimmy. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
William served his country with honor in the Marines during the Vietnam War from January 1966 to January 1972. Following his service, he pursued a career as a self-employed Electronic Technician for nearly five decades. Known for his culinary skills, he enjoyed cooking for his loved ones, and his food was always a highlight of family gatherings. Additionally, William was an avid fisherman and handmade fishing lures as a hobby.
An exceptional man with a kind heart and a great sense of humor, William will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and courage. His presence in the lives of his family and friends was truly cherished, and his passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt.
A memorial service honoring William's life and legacy will be held in the near future, and details will be shared with friends and family.
